To become the national hub for continuing professional development of academic and non-academic (office) staffs working in higher education institutions in Bangladesh by providing training opportunities with skilled resource personels.
To generate knowledge on teaching-learning, identify developmental needs of academic and non-academic staffs and students, organize training and workshops for themselves, and develop modules and e-resources aiming at fostering an academic and administrative environment that enhances individual and institutional capabilities of the staff within the higher education system in Bangladesh.
Teachers are the key architects of the University of Dhaka, who are also considered as the pride of Bangladesh. The ultimate goal of the Centre is to improve the quality of DU Teachers on the eve of the centenary providing constructive training and workshops. To fulfil the aims, the Centre is regularly advertising and introducing the concepts of teaching & learning, Blooms Taxonomy, role of a lecturer, ethical principles and norms of university teachers, curriculum development manual, DU Ordinance, advanced IT skills, different teaching and research methods in today’s world, indispensable advices about how to do higher research and hands on training on different teaching methods to the teachers.
As a result of the said training and workshop, the students of Dhaka University are showing more interest on education, classroom activity, extra-curricular activity and other substances than previous times because of confirming the development of the quality of teaching and proper environment of the classroom.
The Teachers are also being able to play a greater role in their own professional development to have participatory arrangements in every workshop. The centre provides participation certificates to the teachers after completing every successful workshop. The classroom lecture with digital presentation consisting of the E-Teaching Learning Awareness, personal information and qualifications about the lesson is facilitating Students' Education.
Dhaka University Centre of Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CoETL, DU) is organizing workshops amongst the DU Officers on “A Training Workshop in Office Management” regularly. Through this, professional improvement of Officers as well as Teachers is being followed. It may be mentioned that the DU, CoETL successfully organizes series workshops for the faculty (teachers) and officers of Dhaka University for achieving Quality Higher Education. During this Covid-19 pandemic period which is started from March 2020, DU CoETL is vigorously arranges online teaching curricula and online based manual to the faculty of Dhaka University and arranges several workshops using Zoom, Google Classroom and other online Platform.
