The University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) decided to support for establishment of a Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CoETL) at University of Dhaka (DU), Dhaka (UGC/ICC/5.17/CoETL/INSPIRE/2014/3684; dated 18 May, 2014). The CoETL of DU, Dhaka shall be a service oriented and training led Centre that shall support the university to achieve its strategic teaching and learning aims .The CoETL shall achieve this objective on teaching and learning aims. The CoETL shall achieve this objective on teaching-learning in a number of ways:

1. organize training ,
2. conduct research
3. publish journal & resources ,
4. develop training modules,
5. develop trainer pool,
6. offer certificate /diploma /masters courses,
7. perform consultancy services, and
8. Coordinate and lead the CETL activities of other universities. The CETL will function under the executive and academic authorities of the Syndicate and Academic Council of DU.
