Capital of Quazi Abdul Fattah-Khurshida Banu Fattah Trust Fund increases
Dhaka University (DU) authorities have received taka 05 lac donation further to enhance the capital of Quazi Abdul Fattah-Khurshida Banu Fattah Trust Fund’ under Botany Department of the university. Former Professor of the Department of Botany of DU Dr. Quazi Abdul Fattah handed over a cheque for Tk. 5 lac to DU Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin today November 30, 2016 at the Vice-Chancellor’s office to enhance the capital.
Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique, Chairman of the Department of Botany Prof. Dr. M.A. Bashar and Acting Registrar Md. Enamuzzaman were present on this occasion.
Out of the income of this donation, every year one meritorious student who will secure the highest CGPA in BS (Honors) final examination from the Department of Botany of DU will be awarded ‘Quazi Abdul Fattah- Khurshida Banu Fattah Gold Medal.’
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Arefin Siddique thanked the donor for his donation and hoped that the students would be highly benefited and encouraged from this.
It may be mentioned that both Professors Dr. Quazi Abdul Fattah and Dr. Khurshida Banu Fattah were the students of DU Botany Department. Prof. Dr. Quazi Abdul Fattah retired from the Department of Botany of DU in 2010. Prof. Dr. Khurshida Banu Fattah also retired from the Government Home Economics College, Dhaka in 2001 as its Principal. The two sons of this couple Dr.Quazi Riaz Fattah and Dr. Quazi Parvez Fattah are now well established in the society.
