As a part of the largest and fastest growing sector of the global economy there is a need for more highly qualified and trained personnel in tourism and hospitality industries. In recognition to this, Faculty of Business Studies, Dhaka University was contemplating to set up a department to offer degrees in this field. As a part of the faculties' endeavour to this end, the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management was setup in 2007.
