জাপানিজ স্টাডিজ বিভাগ (২০১৭)
জাপান বিশ্বের তৃতীয় বৃহত্তম অর্থনীতির দেশ এবং বাংলাদেশের অন্যতম উন্নয়ন সহযোগী। দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধের পর মাত্র বিশ বছরে জাপান যে অর্থনৈতিক সমৃদ্ধি অর্জন করেছে সেটি পৃথিবীর ইতিহাসে বিস্ময়কর ঘটনা। জাপানের সমাজ, সংস্কৃতি, অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়নের ইতিহাস, সফলতা অর্জনের কারণ ও অন্যান্য আনুষাঙ্গিক বিষয় অধ্যয়ন এবং গবেষণার মাধ্যমে অর্জিত জ্ঞানকে বাংলাদেশের উন্নয়নের কাজে লাগাতে জাপান স্টাডি সেন্টার প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়। মাস্টার্স ইন জাপানিজ স্টাডিজ প্রোগ্রাম ২০০৬ সালে চালু হয়। ২০১৭ সালে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কর্তৃপক্ষ জাপান স্টাডি সেন্টার (জেএসসি) কে জাপানিজ স্টাডিজ বিভাগে রূপান্তরিত করেছে, যা ২০১৭-২০১৮ শিক্ষাবর্ষ থেকে স্নাতক ১ম বর্ষে শিক্ষার্থী ভর্তি শুরু করেছে। বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থীরা অনেকে বৃত্তি নিয়ে জাপানের বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে গবেষণা ও মাস্টার্স /পিএইচ. ডি প্রোগ্রামে পড়াশুনা করছে। মাস্টার্স ইন জাপানিজ স্টাডিজ ডিগ্রি অর্জনকারী শিক্ষার্থীরা বিভিন্ন জাপানিজ প্রতিষ্ঠানসহ দেশি বিদেশি প্রতিষ্ঠানে কর্মসংস্থানের সুযোগ করে নিতে সক্ষম হয়েছে এবং প্রতিনিয়ত হচ্ছে।
Department of Japanese Studies (2017)
It is known to all that Japan is the third largest economy of the world and one of the leading development partners of Bangladesh. The economic development that Japan has accomplished within twenty years after the Second World War is considered a miracle in world history. The Japan Study Centre was established with a vision to explore Japan’s experiences in the development sector and others. The fundamental motto of the Japan Study Centre is to study and do basic research on Japanese society, culture, history of economic development and identity the reasons behind their development and other important issues related to Japan-Bangladesh. Masters in Japanese Studies programme was launched in 2006. The University of Dhaka transformed Japan Study Center (JSC) into the Department of the Japanese Studies (DJS) in 2017. It started admission in its first batch of undergraduate students from the academic year 2017-18. Currently a good number of Japanese Studies students are doing their research and Masters/Ph. D degree in Japan and are being awarded with different scholarships worldwide. Japanese Studies graduates are also able to secure jobs in various national, international and multinational organizations including the Japanese ones.
