টেলিভিশন, ফিল্ম অ্যান্ড ফটোগ্রাফি বিভাগ (২০১২)
দেশের বিকাশমান টেলিভিশন এবং চলচ্চিত্র শিল্পে দক্ষ জনবল তৈরি ও মাধ্যম দুটি নিয়ে গবেষণার লক্ষ্যে কানাডিয়ান কমনওয়েলথ স্কলার ড. এ. জে. এম. শফিউল আলম ভূঁইয়ার হাত ধরে ২০১২ সালের ২৩ জানুয়ারি ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে টেলিভিশন ও চলচ্চিত্র অধ্যয়ন বিভাগের যাত্রা শুরু হয়। এটি সামাজিক বিজ্ঞান অনুষদের অধিভুক্ত একটি বিভাগ। ২০১৩-১৪ শিক্ষাবর্ষ থেকে বিভাগটি চার বছরের স্নাতক ডিগ্রি চালু করেছে। এতে আসন সংখ্যা ৩০। বর্তমানে বিভাগটিতে দুই বছরের একটি মাস্টার্স প্রোগ্রাম চালু আছে। এতেও আসনসংখ্যা ৩০। সম্মান শ্রেণিতে কৃতকার্য হওয়া শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য পরবর্তীতে এক বছরের একটি মাস্টার্স প্রোগ্রাম চালু হবে।
বিভাগটিতে পাঠদান ও গবেষণার বিষয়বস্তুর মধ্যে রয়েছে টেলিভিশন সাংবাদিকতা, টেলিভিশন প্রযোজনা, চলচ্চিত্র নির্মাণ ও চলচ্চিত্র সমালোচনাসহ টেলিভিশন ও চলচ্চিত্র সংক্রান্ত প্রয়োজনীয় সকল বিষয়। বিভাগে রয়েছে একটি অত্যাধুনিক ডিজিটাল রিসোর্স সেন্টার যেখানে আছে উন্নত প্রযুক্তির ক্যামেরা ও এডিটিং প্যানেলসহ টেলিভিশন ও চলচ্চিত্র সংশ্লিষ্ট প্রয়োজনীয় বিভিন্ন বই। টেলিভিশন ও চলচ্চিত্র শিল্পে দক্ষ ও প্রতিষ্ঠিত ব্যক্তিরা বিভাগটিতে খণ্ডকালীন শিক্ষক হিসেবে পাঠদান করছেন।
Department of Television, Film and Photography
The Department of Television and Film Studies at the University of Dhaka began its journey on January 23, 2012 with the appointment of Dr. A. J. M Shafiul Alam Bhuiyan, a Canadian Commonwealth Scholar, with the aim of creating creative and skilled workforce as well as conducting research on the television and film industry. The Department is affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences.
At this moment it is running a two-year MSS and a four-year BSS programme. The Department will initiate a one-year Master’s programme for the students who have completed the BSS programme. There will also be a Ph. D programme in the Department.
The Department enrolled its first Master of Television and Film Studies cohort in 2012-13 academic session. Each programme enrolls 30 students per year. All the aspects of television journalism, television production and film making and criticism are taught in the Department. It has a Digital Resource Center equipped with latest cameras, sound equipments and edit panels. The leading film and television personalities of the country also teach in the Department as adjunct faculties.
