নৃত্যকলা বিভাগ (২০১৪)
নৃত্যকলা বিভাগ ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কলা অনুষদের সবচেয়ে সাম্প্রতিক সংযোজন। শুধু পারফর্মিং আর্টই নয়, নিয়মিত বিষয় হিসেবেও নৃত্যে উচ্চতর পড়াশুনার জন্য এটি বাংলাদেশে প্রথম। নৃত্যকলা বিভাগ সংস্কৃতি এবং সৃজনশীল শিল্পের ক্ষেত্রে নৃত্য বিষয়ে উচ্চশিক্ষা প্রদানের ক্ষেত্রে একটি প্রধান এবং নেতৃত্বস্থানীয় ভূমিকা পালন করে আসছে যার মধ্য দিয়ে অধ্যবসায়ী সৃজনশীল নৃত্যশিল্পীরা ঐতিহ্যবাহী এবং আধুনিক নৃত্যের সংমিশ্রণে একটি নতুন মাত্রা তৈরি করতে সক্ষম হবে।
২০১৪-২০১৫ শিক্ষার্ষে ১০ জন শিক্ষার্থী নিয়ে নৃত্যকলা বিভাগের যাত্রারম্ভ হয় এবং বর্তমানে মোট ১০৩ জন শিক্ষার্থী স্নাতক পর্যায়ে অধ্যয়নরত যাদের মধ্যে ২৩ জন ছাত্র এবং ৮০ জন ছাত্রী। অতি সম্প্রতি ২০১৮-২০১৯ শিক্ষাবর্ষ হতে বিভাগটিতে নৃত্য বিষয়ে মাস্টার্স প্রোগ্রাম চালু করা হয়।
বিভাগের চেয়ারপার্সনের দায়িত্বে আছেন অধ্যাপক রেজওয়ানা চৌধুরী। এছাড়া বিভাগটিতে স্থায়ী প্রভাষক ৩ জন, ৪ জন খণ্ডকালীন শিক্ষক, ২ জন ডেমনস্ট্রেটর, ১ জন অফিস সহকারী ও ২ জন অফিস সহায়ক কর্মরত আছেন।
Department of Dance
The Department of Dance is the most recent addition to the Faculty of Arts, University of Dhaka. It is the first of its kind in Bangladesh for higher studies in dance not only as a performing art but also as a regular subject. In that respect, the Department of Dance plays a major and leading role in providing higher education in dance in the field of culture and creative arts and thus enables researchers and diligent creative performers to create a new dimension by blending traditional and modern dance forms. Like other countries, Bangladesh adopted dance as a part of general education when the Department of Dance, University of Dhaka, started its journey.
The Department started with only 10 students in 2014-15 academic year and now 103 students enrolled in the B.A (Dance) Honours course in different academic years. Among them 23 are male and rest of them are female. From the academic year 2018-2019 the Department is going to start one-year Masters programme.
Professor Rezwana Choudhury is now Chairperson of this Department. Apart from this, 3 lecturers, 4 part-time teachers, 2 demonstrators, 1 office assistant, and 2 office peons are working for this Department.
